Who We Are
Westport Center for the Arts is a multi-discipline arts organization providing affordable events with professional actors, musicians, and artists.
We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization.
Our Mission
Westport Center for the Arts provides opportunities to experience the creative and performing arts in a welcoming setting.
By producing a broad spectrum of affordable and accessible events and programs, we connect with our urban, inter-generational community.
We work to ensure that Westport Center for the Arts is an active, vital, and dynamic resource for the transforming power of the arts.
Our Programming
In 2006, Westport Center for the Arts was established as a result of arts programming at Westport Presbyterian Church:
- Brown Bag Concerts
- Cinema ‘n’ Soul
- Live Readings of A Christmas Carol
Since that time, our programming has grown to include:
- Brown Bag Concerts
- Mostly Foreign Film School
- Live Readings, including Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass: The Measure of Great Men
- Arts Classes for kids
- Art Gallery Space and Visual Art Shows
- Special programs, such as Women’s Voices, 9/11 Memorial Concert, Kansas City Fringe Festival.
